Vardavar at the pagan temple of Garni: festive atmosphere on July 12

On July 12, the area of the pagan temple of Garni was filled with festive joy, smiles, and streams of water: here was celebrated one of Armenia's most beloved summer holidays — Vardavar.
Hundreds of visitors gathered around the temple from different regions of Armenia and various countries of the world. Water games, high spirits, and live interactions created a unique atmosphere, turning the historical monument into a meeting place of culture, tradition, and joy.
Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to walk around the Garni temple area, enjoy the surrounding mountain landscapes, take photos, and participate in festive events. For many, this was the first acquaintance with the traditions of Armenian Vardavar, and for locals, another beautiful occasion to celebrate the beloved holiday together.
Vardavar is not only a beautiful tradition of blessing and refreshing each other with water but also a holiday that unites people and has maintained its special place in Armenian culture for many years.
We are happy that this year as well, the pagan temple of Garni became a meeting place for thousands of visitors and a center for creating unforgettable memories.
